When the pandemic first hit & it became clear that Perry Anne & Robert would need to shift their plans, Perry Anne offhandedly remarked to her parents, “I could just get married at home.” To this, humorously enough, her father cried “Please no!” & her mother let out a resounding, knowing “YES!” And so, it happened. Perry Anne & Robert adapted their wedding plans to take place in Perry Anne’s beautiful childhood home, & it was unforgettable! We think even dad agrees 🙂
Perry Anne’s family’s home is an old farm house that her parents bought when they graduated from college. They expanded their house, & then their family, & that’s where Perry Anne & her sister grew up. Beautiful paintings & family heirlooms decorated the walls & bookshelves. Hoards of candles flickered on top of the family piano. On the other side of the house, Perry Anne got ready across the hall from her old nursery, still painted pink. She beamed as her mom helped her step into an immaculately beaded, yet effortless tulle dress.
In front of the pond, Perry Anne & Robert had their first look. Robert wept when he saw his bride! They exchanged letters & enjoyed sweet, slow time together. They couldn’t wait to be married! It became so clear that the most important components of a wedding, they had in abundance.
Their parents, siblings, & grandparents gathered once again in front of the pond to watch Perry Anne & Robert say their vows to one another. It was sunset, & it felt like time stood still. The frogs croaked. The birds sang. The officiant read a beautiful homily, & Perry Anne & Robert took communion together as they joined together as husband & wife!
After the ceremony, both families sat down to a gorgeous meal plated on family china. What they may have lacked in numbers that day, they made up for in warmth– laughter over a well-loved family dinner table, lemon pound cake, intimate stories, & plenty of room for seconds. At the end of the night, Perry Anne & Robert drove away as husband & wife in a gorgeous vintage car!!
Perry Anne & Robert – thank you for the privilege of being part of your families, inviting us in & giving us the GIFT of watching you become husband & wife. We are SO honored to have been a part of your intimate wedding day! Love, The Rainsfords
