JT & Anna’s many years of dating– six, to be exact– culminated on a sparkling, sunshine-y Sunday in June when the two finally tied the knot.
On the morning of their wedding, bridesmaids floated around in dusty purple dresses, passing bouquets of white hydrangeas, punchy lilac roses, & greenery. The summer heat intensified the smell of eucalyptus from bouquets & the freshly cut grass outside on the venue’s lawn.
Inside, Anna was at ease as her mom helped her slip into a beaded gown with floral applique, & carefully draped the diamond necklace that JT had given her the night before around her neck. It had been a surprise– the necklace– made from his mom’s engagement ring, in honor of his late father. Anna’s smile, bright & exuberant, was the only thing more exquisite than the diamond around her neck!
Outside, JT & Anna met in a nearby open field for their first look. Back to back, they traded their handwritten letters, & began to take in the words they had each written to one another. As they slowly turned to see one another, tears fell from both of their faces & they wrapped around each other in the most joyful embrace! Happy tears quickly turned into absurd silliness as we added their bridal party to the mix for group photos. Everyone was so kind and SO much fun!
At their ceremony every detail was sweet & full of Christ-exalting worship. One of JT’s college mentors officiated, & he took every opportunity to remind everyone there, including us, of the precious truths of the gospel. Throughout the entirety of the ceremony, JT was extremely emotional, & eventually, Anna started crying as well. At one point the pastor pulled out a handkerchief to give to Anna, & instead, JT intercepted it. JT & Anna erupted in laughter, & so did everyone else! Joined by Christ, JT & Anna officially became husband & wife!
The night ended with a surprise visit from the Clemson Tiger, and tons of dancing. We never saw these two leave the dance floor!
