Dear Rainsfords, There are SO many options for bridesmaids dresses. What are your favorite bridesmaids trends you have photographed recently? Love, The Overwhelmed Bride
All. The. Details!! Seeing it come together is so much fun, but man – it really can be overwhelming! We see you & hear you, sweet bride. But don’t forget – planning a wedding should be FUN & tap into your creativity. This should be a time of looking at new things & experimenting!
We have been blown away recently with all the variety there is out there to choose from & brides frequently ask us what our favorite companies & trends are! Just THIS Fall – we have been in love with 3 different trends that our brides have chosen!!
JUMPSUITS – these bridesmaids outfits were a total hit for Julie & Kyle’s wedding! Each girl looked amazing &&& could seamlessly break it down on the dance floor 🙂 Julie did a great job with the color & style! Don’t her girls look phenomenal? Click here to see the jumpsuit by Morilee. The color of these bridesmaids jumpsuits is “teal” – so gorgeous, right?
BHLDN – BHLDN is always a favorite of ours. Each year they come out with beautiful fabrics & colors – even their wedding gowns are stunning!! Leah was super adventurous when it came to trying something new with her girls (see Leah & Pat’s full wedding day here!). Each of her bridesmaids had a different style dress from BHLDN in the color “Arizona”. With a fall backdrop, blush tones, & pops of navy & mustard yellow – these dresses SHINED (and so did her girls)!! Fun fact, her bridesmaids wore this style backwards 🙂 Nothing like being creative & having fun on your wedding day!
SEQUINS – Can we get an “Amen?!” Any kind of texture or fabric is fun, but sequins totally take the cake when it comes to something that “pops!” Vanessa pulled out all the stops for her girls!! Draped in long, gold sequin dresses by Revelry, Vanessa’s bridesmaids were the definition of elegance & beauty against the backdrop of the mountains at Chattooga Belle Farms. These dresses were especially fun to photograph as they glistened & shined in the sun SO well! (To see Vanessa & Andrew’s full wedding day, click here!)
A few other tips:
Don’t be afraid to mix & match colors! We don’t have a wedding that has done this in the last year, but have seen plenty of examples in magazines & quick web searches. Here is one example that seems to be a trend for 2020!
Don’t be afraid of a non-traditional fabrics: things like velvet, sequins (shown above) & even beaded dresses photograph super well & provide a POP on your wedding day. Your girls are fabulous – show them off in something fun!!
Don’t be afraid that you will look back & think “That was soooo (enter year you get married).” It’s bound to happen in one thing or another! EVERY bride wishes there was something they could change – it’s inevitable. SO, set yourself free & choose what you like!
So there you have it! Have fun, order lots of different things (most companies let you return a certain number of dresses for free) & don’t be afraid to try something new. Remember, we are cheering you on – you can totally do this! Happy wedding planning!!
Love, The Rainsfords
