We know that what we ask from our couples can be intimidating, but we didn’t understand how HARD it could be until we switched roles & stepped from behind the camera to the FRONT!

Now to preface this – we had the BEST time taking pictures! Our experience was only WONDERFUL! Anna did the best job putting us at ease, & making us feel comfortable. But as we were along for the ride, our eyes were opened to a few things. Now we can relate to you better & hopefully anticipate how you’re feeling!

We packed up our family a few months ago to take family photos, head shots, & pictures for our (new) website (coming soon!) with our DEAR friend, Anna Duncan. We had been looking forward to this night for WEEKS! Cindy McGrath came over & did JP’s make-up & hair, we were able to wear some of our favorite outfits, & we were so excited to LOOK into the eyes of each other after the end of a long week!

As we walked in downtown Greenville, we listened to music, snuggled & laughed a ton. We also took note of all the things we felt & here’s what we learned:

1. What we ask of you during our session is HARD! We do our very best to direct each of our couples while giving them time to sink in & enjoy all of the moments along the way. But at some point you are probably thinking to yourself, “How on earth? It’s not as easy as you think!” And darn right right. It’s NOT! Anna did a great job directing us. Her voice was calm, never hurried & always did what was best for us. What a great reminder to always be reading the situation & be checking in with our clients to make sure they are comfortable!

2. Putting together outfits is HARD! Oh y’all. How JP struggled to find a dress that she loved, fit her body how she wanted, then we had to MATCH it with Ryland’s outfit & then we second guessed the whole thing over & over again. Props to you for showing up semi dressed & looking cute together!! You deserve a gold star!

3. Being on time is HARD! We feel like this one hit us in a whole new way. It’s easy to get distracted, loose track of time, & know that the longer we wait, the more light we are losing. As we threw on our clothes dress & JP looked for her lost earring “Dadgummit!” we suddenly knew – this is not for the faint of heart & we ask clients to do this every week!!

So here’s to you, our dear bride & grooms! We are raising a virtual cocktail high in the air, toasting in your honor. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your hard work, soft smiles & giggles, cute outfits, being on time & most of all – for trusting us!
