The first time we met Josh & Mel, we shared a coffee at a crowded cafe in Chattanooga, TN. We spent the hour talking about everything: wedding planning, families, hopes, fears, & most of all – how the Lord was seamlessly weaving their lives together! We knew right away that this wedding would not only be one that was beautiful, but one that we would cherish for many years to come!
Josh & Mel were married at the beautiful McGuire Millrace Farms in Murphy, NC. This venue is nestled deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Complete with cabins for getting ready & a gorgeous outdoor space, McGuire’s Millrace is a true gem! We are SO glad the Pipkins found such a perfect spot for their day. As we look back on Josh & Mel’s wedding day, one of our favorite moments happened minutes before the ceremony: Josh & his groomsmen prayed in the back room followed by shouts of joy & hugs. Then proudly, Josh’s dad led his son to the alter where Josh stood waiting, BEAMING!, to see his bride, Mel. As soon as she rounded the corner, Josh lit up & the whole crowd was lost in their tears & joy as she approached her groom. It was a culmination of everything these two had hoped & prayed for & boy oh boy – to be first hand witnesses was such an honor!
Pipkins, thank you for the privilege of standing by your side on your wedding day! Cheers to new adventures together on this new road called marriage – we are so excited for you & we love you both!
A note from the bride: To Josh and I, our day was more than a pretty white dress, yummy cake, and sparklers. We prayed that each moving part of our wedding, whether big or small, shed light on the goodness and grace of God. We prayed that the flowers and the venue would be so beautiful that people saw the Lord’s goodness in creating them; we prayed that our DJ would be fun and full of joy, so much so that he would show the overflow of Christ in the way he MC’d the night; we prayed that our ceremony would teach and remind our guests about the good news; and we prayed that our photographers, too, would glorify God in their handiwork and shed light on the gospel on our day. And they did just that. JP and Ryland loved Josh and I more than we could have imagined on the day of and the days leading up to the wedding. They took care of us, they laughed with us, they listened and worked with us when we asked for pictures we hadn’t planned for, and they made sure they knew exactly what we were hoping to have captured on our wedding day. They were right there with us every part of the night, and we felt like they were just as much photographers as they were great friends.
